About Us
Hill Country Day School is on track to open its doors in 2026, and we’re excited to share our latest update. We’ve secured a prime location just off 306 to begin our construction journey. Situated at the intersection of Highway 306 and River Chase Way, our spot offers easy access for residents of River Chase, Havenwood, Ranches of comal and The Pinnacle and is a short 6-mile drive from Gruene and the newly developing Mayfair District!
Hill Country Day School is embarking on an exciting journey, dedicated to providing high-quality, child-led education. We are delighted to announce the availability of dedicated infant care and therapy services for both our school community and the wider community. Our focus is on serving children aged 6 weeks through Pre-K. Our vision includes offering opportunities for our youngest children to enjoy fresh air through nature walks and stroller rides on our 5.5 acre property, as well as outdoor classes on a covered patio. We are enthusiastic about assembling a dedicated team of educators and staff who are passionate about creating a nurturing and enriching learning environment for every child. Ensuring fair and equitable compensation for our valued staff is a top priority, as we recognize the dedication of individuals who may not always receive the acknowledgment they deserve. We strongly advocate for child-led learning and aim to foster collaboration with parents.

Meet the Founder
Haleigh Almquist has nearly 20 years of experience in the childcare field. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies with a Minor in Psychology from Texas Tech University. Additionally, Haleigh earned her Masters in Public Administration from Penn State University. Throughout her career, she has taken on diverse roles, including Certified Newborn Care Specialist, Certified Lactation Counselor, Substitute Teacher, Co-Founder of a literacy nonprofit organization, and, most importantly, mother of three.
Over the past thirteen years, Haleigh has dedicated herself to building the leading newborn care agency, comprising over 300 staff members catering to families across the nation. While nurturing this venture, Haleigh has always had a long-standing dream of establishing a preschool. Now is the perfect time, fueled by the growing population of New Braunfels, where Haleigh and her family have been residing for the past four years. Currently, Haleigh is ready to direct her enthusiasm for children and her refined leadership abilities towards enhancing the local community.
